Halal Bacon S'more!

Halal Bacon S'more!

Ladies and gentlemen, I won’t pretend that I am infallible. I try new things in the kitchen from time to time and sometimes those new things are… questionable. And this? This is one of those times. I was hesitant, dare I say reluctant, yet here I… sit, I guess, letting you know that this recipe is actually pretty good. In fact, it’s quite good but I implore you to brush your teeth vigorously that night and probably the next morning as well because the sugar content here is very high.

I cut these up into little bite sized appetizers and brought them around to everyone in the office and, with the exception of one person who doesn’t like sweet meat, everyone loved it! The reason I share this is because I realized these would be great hors d'oeuvres for most fun occasions, especially for kids. In fact, my little cousins are in town this week and I think I’ll make these for game day!

No matter how you enjoy these they will be delicious. Click the video below to see how I made these or keep scrolling to read the full recipe.

Ingredients:

1 Package of Midamar’s Halal Breakfast Beef

Ziyad Giant Halal Marshmallows (available on Midamarhalal.com!)

Brown Sugar

2 chocolate bars (I used hershey’s)

Instructions:

1) Cut beef bacon strips in half. Lay 3 strips horizontally, lift the right-most edge of the middle piece of bacon and slide another strip in vertically, then lay the middle piece of bacon down. Next, lift the top and bottom strips of bacon and pull back over vertical strip, place another vertical strip over the middle strip and lay the top and bottom strips back over second vertical strip. If using 3 vertical strips; lift the left most portion of the middle strip of bacon, place a final vertical strip and lay middle strip back down

2) Cover both with about 1 tsp of brown sugar, place in an aluminum foil lined baking sheet and bake at 400° for 25-30 minutes

3) Heat marshmallows over a bonfire/fire pit, or a grill.

4) Place half of the chocolate bar on the bacon “cracker,” place marshmallow over chocolate, top with another bacon “cracker and enjoy.
