Hearty Beef and Noodles!

Hearty Beef and Noodles!

Welcome back to Cooking to with Cass! My name is Cassem Aossey, and today we're making one of my dad's favorite foods: Hearty Beef and Noodles!

This recipe is great because with one more ingredient you can have a simple beef stroganoff, simply add 1/2 cup of sour cream and that's it. All in all this recipe is made to amplify the flavor of Midamar's Halal Beef Stew meat. The mushrooms and Worcestershire sauce take the delicious flavor of our Halal beef stew meat add hints of extra umami that boost the flavor that takes a good dish and makes it great. Not to mention, this recipe only takes 30 minutes to make!

Ingredients:

1 lb Midamar Halal Beef Stew Meat

3 tbp flour

2 tsp seasoned salt of choice (or to taste)

black pepper to taste

2 tbsp butter

1 tbsp olive oil

1 yellow onion, chopped

12 oz sliced mushrooms

4 cloves of garlic, chopped

1 qt beef stock (about 4 cups)

2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

4 Sprigs thyme

12 oz egg noodles, prepared according to package instructions

sour cream (optional as topping or add 1/2 cup to make beef stroganoff)

Instrucitons:

1) In a large bowl, whisk to combine flour, seasoned salt, and black pepper. Place meat in bowl and toss to coat.

2) In a large Dutch oven, place butter and olive oil and cook over medium high heat. Once butter melts, stir to combine. Cook meat in batches on both sides until are browned. Remove meat to a bowl and set aside.

3) Reduce heat to medium and add mushrooms, garlic, and onions. Cook, stirring occasionally for 6-8 minutes or until mushrooms have reduced by about half. Add beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, browned beef, and thyme. Bring to a simmer and reduce heat to low. Cover and cook for 1 1/2 hour, checking occasionally.

4) Remove lid, discard thyme sprigs and add cooked noodles. Stir until noodles are covered in sauce. If making stroganoff, add 1/2 sour cream and stir until incorporated. Serve hot and enjoy!
