Lentil and Lamb Stew, for Me and for You!
1 lb of Midamar Halal Ground Lamb
1 large onion
1.5 cups of whole lentils
2 chopped carrots
2 stalks of chopped celery
10 cups of water
2 teaspoons of allspice
2 teaspoons of salt (or just salt to taste)
1 teaspoon of pepper (or pepper to taste)
Sauté meat, onions, and butter in a large pot. When the meat is brown add water, lentils, carrots, and celery, allspice salt, and pepper.
Cover and cook on medium-high heat for 30 minutes or until lentils are soft.
Reduce heat to low, let simmer for another 30 minutes.
Squeeze lemon on soup before serving (or serve with a lemon wedge)
