This week I wanted to make something that's a little more focused on get togethers. Football season is on and, while I don't follow it closely, I thought it was a good excuse to get my family over and have a good time.
When I was a kid, I used to love sour cream and onion dip. I'd have it after school and when friends came over. I had completely forgotten about that until I took one bite of this dip. Given, what we're making has a far more robust set of flavors than what I grew up on, but that only made something I already liked, better!
For this recipe, I made some dip using Midamar's beef bacon and some using Midamar's turkey bacon. One thing I will mention is that I accidentally used a little more hot sauce in the turkey bacon dip and that one disappeared much faster than the other.
Making this loaded baked potato dip is quick and easy! To see me make this click here or find the full recipe below!
1 cup sour cream
1-2 tsp hot sauce of choice
1 tsp chopped chives
1 cup shredded cheddar
1) Cook bacon to a crisp, let cool then chop into bite size bits
2) In a medium to small mixing bowl, combine all ingredients, reserving a small pinch of bacon bits. Mix well, place in a serving bowl and top with remaining bacon bits
