When was the last time you treated yourself to a deliciously creamy and boldly flavorful Halal sausage risotto recipe? Because if you’re in need of one then you’re in luck, because this week we have a deliciously creamy and boldly flavorful risotto recipe, with fresh spinach and our own Midamar twist that we think you’ll enjoy, because we certainly did!
We’ll start with the simple additions we made to this recipe that really do their part to make it that much better. First, we didn’t use Halal sausage in the way you might be thinking, we used Midamar’s Halal hot links instead, and these are a great way to add a little bit of spice to what is otherwise a pretty mild dish. Don’t worry if you aren’t a spice lover, Midamar’s hot links add just enough heat to bring something a little more fun and complex to the flavor profile without being overtly spicy. Chopping up a package of these into bite sized pieces at the start is a great way to get that great flavor in every bite. The second is a few handfuls of spinach to give it a little bit of crisp texture and fresh flavor. In order to keep the spinach crisp, you don’t need to cook it down until wilted, it just needs mixed in to the dish towards the end of the cooking.
Speaking of cooking, we also want to demystify risotto for everyone out there who’s heard how tricky making risotto can be. If this is your first time making risotto, don’t stress too much! You are capable of making a perfect risotto, just remember to take your time. Risotto is more involved than your everyday rice and takes more time, but just remember: you’ve got this! When you get to cooking your risotto, be sure to take the time to add your Halal chicken stock to the rice in small batches, and let it cook slowly over medium heat, and stir it just occasionally to keep it from burning. As you do this, the rice will begin to soften and the liquid will slowly cook out of the pan, that’s when you add more stock, and repeat the process until your rice is soft and luxuriously creamy. And that’s it! Soon you’ll be able to see for yourself that the stories of how temperamental risotto can be to get right are overblown. While it’s still hot, mix in your finely shredded Parmesan cheese and this will make the whole dish even creamier and more delicious, stir in a few handfuls of spinach, and you’re done.
And that’s all there is to it. It may be a little more complex than your average rice dish, but in return for your time you’ll have an amazing risotto that is absolutely worth the investment. Otherwise, that’s it for this weeks recipe! We hope you enjoy it when you make it for yourself, and we hope you spread the love and share it with someone else while you’re at it. As always, we look forward to bringing you another delicious recipe next week and we hope to see you then.
