Do you skip breakfast? I can’t judge you if you do, I usually do too no matter how much I regret it while going hungry later in the morning. If only there was an amazingly simple recipe with all your breakfast favorites like hashbrowns, eggs, and cheese, that can be made ahead of time and enjoyed whenever for those of us who can’t resist the allure of 20 extra minutes of sleep. Well, now breakfast lovers and skippers alike can rejoice with this tasty and Halal Breakfast Casserole that has everything you need for a complete breakfast to start the day off right.
Conveniently enough, most of what you’ll need for this recipe can be found right here at Midamarhalal.com, with the hashbrowns, Halal sausage, and spinach in one easy place. The other key ingredients being the eggs and cheese, that really make this dish a delicious and protein packed breakfast with all your breakfast favorites all in one. We used raw Halal sausage patties and broke them up into crumbled sausage as they cooked, so the sausage is more evenly distributed throughout the finished dish, but if you want larger chunks of sausage for little bursts of meaty goodness then cooking up some diced sausage links would also be great for this.
No matter your sausage style, this dish is incredibly easy to make. While your hashbrowns are par cooking in the oven, you’re free to cook your sausage, onion, and spinach in another pan. Personally, I love a recipe that is time efficient like this; while one thing is cooking you can always get the next part ready to go, making this a recipe you can have done in an hour, then you’ll have breakfast sorted for the rest of the week!
While some casseroles require you to layer your ingredients, this one simply couldn’t be bothered by all that formality. All your ingredients from the eggs, veggies, and cooked sausage will all get mixed in a bowl with some cream and a few seasonings then poured over the hashbrowns. No layering or formality required; just creamy, cheesy, eggy goodness that gets topped with even more cheese just in case you weren’t sold on the great taste just yet. After that, it goes back into the oven until the egg is cooked and sturdy and the cheese is melted and golden over top. Then before you know it, you have a hot and ready breakfast favorite that you and the whole family can save and enjoy every morning, saving precious time that could be spent sleeping in or just alleviating a little bit of that morning rush.
This recipe reminded me a lot of the breakfast egg bites we had made that were also great to make ahead of time and enjoy later. Those used red bell peppers mixed in, and I think that sounds like it would be amazing in this recipe too. But I leave that for you to try for yourself and let us know what you think of this recipe when you do! Make it, share it, enjoy it with someone else that would appreciate a great breakfast, and we’ll see you next time with another fantastic Halal recipe!
