If you’re a meat lover, and love steak especially, then it might feel unfair that grilling season seems to come and go too fast during the warm summer months. We know we don’t want to stand out in the cold, waiting at the grill to enjoy a juicy, flavorful steak, and we don’t blame you if you don’t want to either. But luckily for you, the end of grilling season and the start of cold winter weather doesn’t have to mean that you can’t have one of the best steaks of your life thanks to this weeks recipe, because we have a pan-seared steak that we think you’ll really enjoy, we know we did! And we also have a couple of easy and tasty veggie sides to go with it to complete that steak dinner taste that you may have been missing so let’s take a look.
We’ll start with the most important part of our steak dinner, and that’s obviously the steak. We used Midamar’s halal strip loin steak because it will give you that high quality, juicy, delicious steak you’re looking for while also fitting perfectly into a pan or cast-iron skillet. This is such a simple steak recipe that it’s hard to believe it gives you such a quality dinner, it requires minimal seasoning beyond salt and pepper and will get basted in the pan with butter and garlic. This recipe is so simple that it’s a good chance for you to add any of your favorite seasonings and an easy way to experiment with the flavor of your steak to make it your own. We added a hefty sprig of rosemary to the pan to give the flavor a little more complexity and as a bonus it will make your kitchen smell amazing. Giving the steak a quick sear on all sides to give it a light crust and basting it in melted butter is all you need before you remove it from heat and let it rest for about 10 minutes, this will let it finish cooking internally without overcooking to give you a firm, juicy steak.
But no steak dinner is complete without some sides to tie it all together, and we kept it simple but delicious here too by quickly baking some asparagus and making some Sno Pac organic sweet corn. Much like the steak, the asparagus needs minimal seasoning before baking for 15 to 20 minutes. You can start the asparagus and let that bake while you start on the steak, this way they should both finish around the same time so you can treat yourself to a hot, simple, and oh-so-flavorful steak dinner that is an absolute delight this time of year while the weather is a little colder.
And it really is that simple, these simple ingredients and a lightning-fast cook time will give you such a great dinner it’ll be just like we’re back in the middle of grilling season. And it’s all done using just a few pans. Who wants to worry about a load of dirty dishes after a nice meal? No one, so that’s one less thing to keep you from enjoying this amazing recipe. It really is the complete package that we are hoping you treat yourself to it for dinner, you deserve it, and we’re hoping you share this recipe with someone else. Or you can experiment with it a little, What seasonings or changes did you make that made this even better? We want to hear from you, and we look forward to sharing something amazing with you next time!
